This is a long weekend where I live and in the past I would have attended the Powell Street Festival of Japanese Canadian culture. But I’m still not comfortable being crowds, even outside, with the virus hanging around. Hope you’re all healthy.
Monday
My teen is taking a Communications course and one of the assignments is making a resume. I was noticing the similarity between various forms of writing.
Tuesday
She did seem enthusiastic and I’m sure it was all positive. When more people wore masks, it seemed like a good excuse to ignore them even if I was pretty sure I knew who they were.
Wednesday
In principle I recognize the value of journalism, but I must admit that I hardly even read much news online. So if you feel so inclined, since I am imposing on your attention, tell me what news you think I should be paying attention to.
Thursday
I inherited my spouse’s old Samsung to replace my old iphone. It seems they have made things tricky to do things that are not part of the same ecosystem. I resent the use of ecosystem for what seems to be mostly a marketing plot. So I am still figuring out my phone, in case you are wondering why I haven’t gotten back to you.
Friday
I don’t really text much, but the other day my teen noticed my technique and mocked me for it. How do you type on your phone?
Saturday
I am probably just lazy. But I do like having resources to make things with, although I haven’t been making many physical things lately. Are you more of a hoarder or a minimalist?
Sunday
This is my ongoing invertebrate joke series. Given that invertebrates comprise about 97% of the animal kingdom, this might go on for a while. If you’re not into marine biology, a whelk is a usually predatory snail. So you if you’re a barnacle or mussel, you might not be happy to see one.
That was my week. I hope you had a good one and have a better one to come.
Prior to your answer, my older son really said " Delivering newspaper was a good workout, and helped build character. I'm glad we did it"
Wednesday's Newspaper. We used to live in Coquitlam, and the Tri-City News is turning totally digital on Aug 10th. I told my sons, who I used to help deliver the newspaper, that now they can start feeling old. And when they have kids, they can tell their children "when I was young, I used to deliver papers to the neighbours' porch"
