More foolishness
Mar. 27 - Apr. 2, 2023
Monday
I was listening to a talk about rationality when Occam’s razor was mentioned and that’s when these other expressions, which I realized more acutely after drawing them, are named after white guys. I could have used a different Clue character, but somehow Mustard seemed funniest for this.
Tuesday
Making these comics feels like being in half of a conversation, where I say my bit, but I don’t hear what you have to say. If I ever do meet you in person in the future, I might start coughing as we talk. Sometimes I even have trouble participating in Zoom meetings. I don’t think it’s illness, but my throat does not get much practise these days.
Wednesday
My default mode is to think of a pun, which is why I supposed they are considered low humour. Still, I think it helps to practise finding weird associations between ideas.
Thursday
A friend told me these are called “hard pants.” I’m not sure if that’s because they are harder to put on than sweat pants. Anyhow, I am making a bit of an effort to look a little bit more respectable in public.
Friday
Do you listen to or watch Canada Reads? I don’t really use a radio any more. Maybe it’s available as a podcast. I already knew about the book and have her Hark! A Vagrant but after I posted this, a bunch of people told me how good the book was, so I went out and bought it. I may use it for bicep curls. Have you read it?
Saturday
I once did a science presentation on April Fool’s Day in which I talked about “pasta trees.” But then I was unnerved to realize the host did not know I was joking. And now it is so tiring to sort through all the misinformation. But maybe before I just didn’t realize it was misinformation.
Sunday
I was reading The Extended Mind about how spending time in nature can actually affect the way you think. I was going to sketch outside, but it was too cold and looked like it might rain. So I sketched these cutting from our garden that I originally set up for Christmas. Evergreens do last a pretty long time.
Hope you’re well. See you next week.
